The most recent FTR Tucking Conditions Index (TCI) shows that freight demand remained strong during the month of April with the expectation that the capacity crunch will continue well into 2019. Trailer Orders Up 30% In May

According to ACT Research, trailer orders continue to climb as carriers try to keep pace with increasing freight volumes. During the month of May, trailer orders climbed to 23,300, marking the 18th straight month of increases. See more here.

Cargo Ship Fuel Standard Changes Could Impact Ocean Freight Forwarding

Ocean carriers race to reduce sulfur emissions in advance of the January 2020 IMO regulation implementation, which could affect demand for diesel fuel in the coming months. The transition to reduced sulfur diesel fuel could have an impact on pricing within the ocean freight forwarding market. See more here.

Comprehensive List Of Tariffs On Chinese Imports In Final Stages Of Negotiations

The Administration recently announced that it is in the final phase of validating the list of U.S. classifications that will be subject to the additional S301 tariff if the country of origin is China. This additional tariff is scheduled to go into effect on July 6, 2018. Port Of Los Angeles Moves 768,804 TEUs In May

The Port of Los Angeles processed 768,804 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in May,  a 3.4 percent decrease in TEUs year-over-year. Experts are analyzing the year-over-year decrease and currently believe that the decreases are caused by multiple factors including the changes in ocean carrier alliances. See more here.
